An old printing warehouse in Elmhurst, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, had the potential to become an ideal location for them. The presses were gone, but the ink, grease and dirt remained. The place would have to be completely gutted and they had only six months to move.
Designing and building on the fly, the team transformed the crusty, ink-stained, 75-year-old warehouse into a sleek, creative office filled with natural light, transparent walls and unconventional materials. We didn’t have the time to do things the typical way. The team’s talents were a perfect mix of creativity, experience and practicality. Team leaders relocated to the Chicago area to provide daily attention to the management of all aspects of the design, permit expediting and construction.
